FREQUENTLY ASKED TREATMENT QUESTIONS

You have questions, I got answers!

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Microbladed eyebrows can last 1 to 3 years. A lot is dependent on your life style, age, even medications can ultimately affect retention. It is VERY important to follow after care instructions to get the best retention out of your brows.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE SERVICE/WHAT HAPPENS?

I like to call your first appointment the "Foundation Session" This appointment is not meant to heal perfectly. Everyone's skin is different, some will retain a lot of color and others will be very light or patchy in spots. Once you have sat in my chair and I have worked on you, I WILL NOT do any kind of touch ups until at least 4 weeks after your initial foundation session.
Which then leads me to add, your second appointment. A second appointment is always needed, this is the nature of the beast with permanent make-up. Really ANY permanent make-up done takes at least 2 sessions. The "Perfection Session" is to touch up any spots, build on, or make any corrections. And again, some may need more than two sessions to get that desired look, this is due to age, stubborn skin, improper aftercare, ect...

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY BROWS AFTER MY SERVICE?

The tattooed area will be dark for the first few days, then will fade into a natural shade. While healing, they will look spotty. Avoid for 1 week:  Soaps, cleansers, hot steamy showers, sun on the pigmented area, chlorinated pools, make- up on treated area. Do not put anything on the area except for Aquaphor or vitamin a+d ointment. Normal activities can take place after scabbing is over and noticeable healing has taken place. Be sure to carefully follow your after care instructions.

DOES IT HURT?

Most of my clients report very little pain. I start with a topical anesthetic before I begin, and then once the skin is "open" I follow it up with a different form to numb and sooth the brows. I only recommend the first and follow up anesthetic. The more I add, the more your skin gets 'lazy' and will begin not accepting more pigment. This will lead to bad retention.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

Do not drink coffee, alcohol, or energy drinks 24 hours before treatment... you can do it, trust me :)  all of these things raise your blood pressure, which can lead to more bleeding than I want and your pigment will not stay, this will lead to bad retention. We have lots of local coffee shops that will love your business AFTER your appointment.

Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Ibuprofen at least 24 hours before appointment.

No tanning 3 days before appointment, and I will not work on anyone who has noticeable redness from the sun.

No waxing, in fact, let those brow hairs GROW! it helps me with shaping.

No Botox, chemical peels, laser treatments at least 2 weeks prior. I recommend getting microblading done before any Botox procedures.
